In-Person Meetings Matter. A Lot.

Remote work is here to stay, but in-person meetings still matter. A lot.

Remote work is here to stay but in-person meetings still matter. A lot. This struck me during our first sales kickoff in 2 years in Arizona.

Remote work rocks. With zero cost I can meet on a whim, share ideas, and even meet colleagues’ pets anywhere, any time. It’s a new era of business meeting scale and flexibility.

But here are five things you can NOT do on Zoom.

Shake hands, fist-bump, bow, or hug colleagues who have become good friends and partners.

See the passion in the eyes of enthusiastic team members; sense their fatigue; help calm their nerves.

Spontaneously meet people who live in 7 time zones from the UK, Singapore, Australia, France, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, and the US. Yeah. That happened and nobody had to stay awake until 4AM!

Tear up with a collegue as we shared experience with cancer.

Look into into 800 eyes, the window to the soul.

Yes, in-person meetings still matter. A lot.
