Dive In

Panera Bread founder Ron Shaich attended Clark University in Massachusetts in the 1980's. One day, he and his friends were in a local convenience store near campus. The owners accused the group of shoplifting and tossed them out. Shaich and his friends retreated to their dorm, wondering: why are we shopping there? How can they treat us like that?

Can we do this ourselves?

They decided: we can do this. We can open our own store.

They dove in.

This image is from Tim McKenna, one of Surfer Today's top photographers of 2019. Although I’m pretty sure this guy is not “diving” in, it’s a breathtaking illustration of the daring that surfers and entrepreneurs share.
