Mods Before and After

When we released Spotfire Mods late last year, most people thought it was cool but ordinary. But as the modifications roll out, light bulbs are turning on as to why they are transformative. The short animation below shows the power of Mods in a few seconds.

Mods let you modify your analytics experience in seconds. You mix-in custom visualizations made by anyone in the global Spotfire community.

Imagine your job is to monitor a subway system. Most companies pay tons of money to build bespoke analytics apps. Instead, we compose a custom app with no code. Add the Stop Time Mod shown here, built by Glenn Hoskins, connect it to a Spotfire map with real-time streaming IoT data and you composed a sophisticated app in seconds.

For Spotfire customers, Mods are free. You download them, install, and go.

For developers, the Mods framework lets you to modify Spotfire like we do in the “factory” in Sweden. Spotfire Mods inherit everything that makes Spotfire great: immersive exploration, real-time data, and embedded data science. To see the builder experience in action, watch the Mods Power Hour.

Mods is already beginning to unlock the creativity of the top visualization developers in the world. Check out the resources below to join in.
